Calls
EWRL has now been established as a non-profit association in Europe. To ensure a stable organisation of future events, we would like to call for help with the organisation at several levels.
Call for organisers: EWRL 2027 with a joint venue for RLC Europe 2027
Dear colleagues,
To strengthen the connections between the Reinforcement Learning Conference (RLC) and the European RL community, EWRL is partnering with RLC to offer a joint venue in 2027.
Concretely, this means that EWRL will expand its usual format to host authors of accepted RLC papers and to accommodate both local keynote speakers and joint (broadcasted) RLC keynotes.
As organisers, you would have some freedom on how you plan to integrate both conferences together. EWRL could have:
- A dedicated day prior to or after RLC
- Specific times in the schedule allocated for each program
- Special keynote sessions within the shared schedule
There would be two locations for RLC in 2027:
- One in the United States
- One in Europe co-located with EWRL
For this special edition, we are seeking a motivated organising team capable of hosting a significantly larger event—one that can welcome the growing EWRL community as well as a portion of the RLC program. We estimate a total attendance of approximately 450–600 participants.
In recent years, EWRL has attracted around 200–250 attendees, with a strong representation of students. Traditionally, the local organising team has also taken on program-chair responsibilities (selecting and inviting keynote speakers, handling submissions, etc.), though these tasks can be distributed flexibly.
For 2027, you would be listed as Local Chairs for RLC. You would also coordinate with RLC Program Chairs and the General Chair to ensure that the joint program elements (e.g., poster sessions, broadcasted talks) are scheduled without overlapping the local program.
We are excited at the prospect of bringing RLC to Europe for the first time through this partnership, and we look forward to receiving your proposals.
Proposal Guidelines
Please submit a 2–3 page document to us addressing the following points.
Proposed Host Location
- Where would you host EWRL + RLC 2027?
- Provide details on accessibility for international travelers, including:
- Transport connections
- Nearby airports
- Accommodation options
- Mention any relevant institutional support, local organisational help, or existing financial backing.
Venue Capacity
- Can you confirm availability of a venue capable of hosting ~600 attendees?
- The venue should ideally include:
- A plenary room
- Breakout spaces, if needed
Legal and Administrative Support
- Do you have a local legal entity able to manage:
- Venue contracts
- Registrations
- Payments
If not, this is not a blocker—support can be provided. Please specify your situation.
Organising Team Structure
Please outline the planned team roles (only provide names when available—we understand the event is in ~1.5 years and things may change).
Suggested roles include: Venue logistics, Program chairs, Website and Communications (we will also have help at the EWRL level).
We look forward to collaborating with an enthusiastic team to make EWRL + RLC 2027 a landmark event for the European RL community.
Please send your proposals to european.reinforcement.learning@gmail.com with the title preamble [EWRL 2027].
Call for Website designer
This Website has been kindly brought to life by the current organising team (EWRL 2026). We would love to have a pretty and ergonomic place to host information about the European RL community more generally (organizing teams, community highlights, RLSS and other satellite events on RL beyond EWRL).
If you would like to help, please reach out to european.reinforcement.learning@gmail.com!
